This Basic PLC Course is an introduction to the concepts of what a PLC is and does. This will include a description and identification of typical PLC hardware, architecture, and I/O (digital and analog). This will also include an introduction to program concepts; the communication between a PLC and a programming computer, ladder logic, memory addressing, timers, counters, and compare instructions. Basic troubleshooting concepts will also be covered.
The participant will:
identify specific digital and analog I/O points by address
Connect to and go online to a PLC
Navigate through PLC program software to include ladder logic files and data table files, and
Search through ladder logic files to trace outputs to controlling inputs.
